Prof Chee is one of the renowned senior physicians in the field of general medicine in Singapore. He was TTSH’s Chairman of Medical Board for two terms: 1991 – 1993, and 2000 – 2003.

Aside from his portfolio as Assistant CEO (Clinical) of NHG and Senior Consultant in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Prof Chee also holds numerous other positions. He is Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Singapore; Visiting Consultant to the KK Women and Children’s Hospital for obstetric medicine; Visiting Consultant of the Singapore Armed Forces at the Military medicine Institute; a member of the Singapore Ministry of Health’s Director of Medical Services office, among others. In 2005, Prof Chee chaired Singapore’s Dengue Fever National Taskforce.

Prof Chee is known for his role in steering NHG clinical leadership, recruitment and clinical quality. In 2006, he received the Public Administration Gold Medal; in 1991, he also received the Public Service Medal for volunteering his medical expertise after completing his National Service.

Prof Chee received his MBBS degree from the University of Singapore in 1973 and postgraduate diplomas Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) (Singapore) and MRCP (UK). He was subsequently elected to Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of London, Edinburgh and Glasgow, the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians. He is presently the Overseas Advisor to the Edinburgh and Australasian Colleges. He is a member of the Policy Committee of the Examinations Board for the MRCP exams.
