NHG College was started in 2002 with the aim of developing NHG staff to their maximum potential so that they are able improve the quality of healthcare in Singapore. This is in line with our vision to ‘Adding years of healthy life for the people of Singapore’.

To better support NHG and Singapore healthcare in achieving key strategic healthcare goals through manpower development, NHG College has been re-organised in July 2008 into five institutions, namely the Institute of Healthcare Leadership (IHL), Institute of Healthcare Quality (IHQ), Institute of Clinical Education (ICE), Institute of Healthcare Workskills (IWS) and Institute of Intermediate and Long Term Care (IILTC).
