Overview

NHG College was officially opened on 19th July 2002. Its mission is to support the continuing efforts in the education and development of NHG staff so as to improve the quality of healthcare in Singapore. The Institute of Medical Education and Training (IMET), Institute of Nursing Education and Training (INET) and Institute of Management and Allied Health Sciences (IMAS) was setup to serve the developmental needs of these professional groups.

In July 2008, to better reflect and support key areas in healthcare transformation, College has recently undergone restructuring to continue meeting our primary objective. That is to cultivate a culture for lifelong learning and provide an intellectually stimulating environment. We believe this will help us support healthcare manpower development to add years of healthy life for patients.

Within the renewed structure, existing capabilities are repositioned while new focus areas are introduced such as Healthcare Quality and Intermediate and Long Term Care. Programme offerings are also enhanced through WSQ courses, customised training and collaborative arrangements with strategic partners.

The new organisation structure consists of five institutions, namely the Institute of Healthcare Leadership (IHL), Institute of Healthcare Quality (IHQ), Institute of Clinical Education (ICE), Institute of Healthcare Workskills (IWS) and Institute of Intermediate and Long Term Care (IILTC).
