Visitors should have valid passports and onward/return tickets to their next destination/country of origin and sufficient funds for their stay in Singapore.
Generally, foreigners who do not require visas for entry and are visiting Singapore as tourists may be given up to 30-day social visit passes upon their arrival in Singapore.

The temperature averages 28 degree Celsius. Light comfortable summer wear is recommended.
The local currency is Singapore dollars and cents. Notes come in denominations of SGD 2, SGD 5, SGD 10, SGD 20, SGD 50, SGD 100, SGD 500, SGD 1,000, and SGD 10,000. Coins come in denominations of 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents and SGD 1. Money changers are conveniently located in shopping areas and the Airport.

Taxis
- Taxi stands are located in most shopping centres and hotels. Taxi fare is SGD2.80 for the first 1.5km. Additional charges apply for further distances.
Mass Rapid Transit (MRT)
- MRT stations are located in most cities and shopping areas. Fare ranges from $0.75 to $1.80 based on ezlink. The train operates from 3 – 8 minutes interval, from 0600 – 12 midnight.
Bus
- The Singapore Bus Services and Trans-Island Services provide transport to town areas. Bus fare is SGD 0.70 – SGD 1.40 on non air-conditioned buses and SGD 0.80 – SGD1.70 on air-conditioned buses. Operating hour is 0600 – midnight.
The official languages are English, Malay, Mandarin and Tamil. Singaporeans are conversant in English which is extensively spoken.
Singapore has a wide range of cuisine – from traditional hawker favourites to the international delights served in restaurants. Savour some of the Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisines.
It is safe to drink water from the tap. Bottled mineral water can be bought at the departmental stores.
