Eight year-old donates birthday “ang pao” to The Courage Fund

Snowden has been following the news on SARs and the appeal to raise money for the victims. So when his relatives asked him what he would like for his 8th birthday on April 21, Snowden told them he would like to receive “ang paos” to donate to The Courage Fund. He collected $140 from “ang paos” given to him by his grandparents, parents, uncles and aunties and asked his mother, Mdm Yeo Bee Loon, to help him send his donation to the Fund.

Snowden Chang is a primary two student of Woodlands Ring Primary School. He has an elder brother, 10 years old studying in the same school. Snowden said, “I am very happy to be able to help the people who have SARs.”

The students and staff of Chestnut Drive Secondary School also donated $1,416 to the Fund. Fans of the Taiwanese pop-group F4 also showed their support. A special website http://f4fanscouragefund.cjb.net was set up to encourage fans of F4 to donate to the Fund. Over a week, fans from overseas and Singapore contributed $5,555, exceeding their target of $5,000.

Today’s tally brings the total for The Courage Fund to $7,827,973.71 to date.
