Programme Objective
This course aims to provide essential skills and knowledge to perform patient care in healthcare institutions under the supervision of the registered nurses or enrolled nurses.

What You will Learn

Programme Contents
This course is accredited under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) System and comprises of 13 modules as follows:

Use of medical terminology in work activities
Comply with workplace safety and health policies and procedures
Perform lifesaving techniques
Work within a legal and regulatory framework in the healthcare industry
Apply understanding of basic human anatomy and physiology
Measure and record patient’s vital signs
Perform patient care activities
Lifting, transfer and positioning of patients
Provide assistance to nutrition and dietetic services
Assist patients with elimination related activities
Perform oral feeding
Perform last offices
Assist patient with basic hygiene activities

Upon successful completion of each training module, participants will be given a Statement of Attainment (SOA). After completing all 13 modules, you will receive the WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care), which is a national qualification awarded by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA).

Individuals with minimum secondary two education, and are keen to undertake the job of Healthcare Assistant.
