Despite its grueling pace and a residential module generally conducted in a ‘rustic’ environment, 92 participants with nursing and allied health background from its three cohorts have given this eight to nine day programme the double thumbs up for its interesting and wide range of modules and experiential learning.
This programme raises participants’ awareness of the national and cluster healthcare issues and challenges facing NHG, facilitates their exposure to foundation management
and leadership skills as well as helps them form strong network and bonding for future and cross functional collaboration on their jobs.
"(Dr Lim Suet Wun) was the best presenter. He was able to make us think
and see a new angle on how healthcare
impacts
whole nation's well-being."
The YLP facilitators are a ‘heavyweight’ team : Nanyang Business School lecturers, NHG senior management (CEOs, COOs, CFOs etc) including experienced staff from the
various institutions, and experiential trainers from renowned adventure learning companies. Two NHG programme mentors serve as on-site resource and coaches, ensuring
a holistic approach to optimise the participants’ learning experiences.
"‘ … and subjects (at Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore) covered were very relevant, like culture, use of IT and innovation. I especially benefited from the
last portion of attracting and retaining people. Very useful visit."
Besides modules on Team Excellence, Leadership and People Management, Strategy - Balance Score Card, Financial and IT Management as well as various panel and sharing sessions on business processes and challenges, corporate visits to industry forerunners enhance the overall learning experience in the areas of benchmarking, networking and mutual learning.
