Writeup on Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course (ACLS) and Refresher Course

ACLS refers to a set of clinical interventions for the urgent treatment of cardiopulmonary arrest plus the knowledge and skills to deploy those interventions. A full ACLS course is conducted over 2_ days and the refresher course takes only 1 day.

To be eligible for the refresher course, the applicants need to possess the following pre-requisites:

1. Current BCLS certification
2. Successfully completed an ACLS provider course in the last 2 years

Besides organising the usual workshops, ICE (Medical) also helps to organise ACLS course for NHG HOs during their 5-day orientation. The course helps to reinforce important concepts and the skills set are particularly useful for the HOs, before they commence work in the hospitals.
