What This Programme is About
![]() |
Clinical Practice Improvement (CPI) programme is established as a successful training course on the science of improvement for clinical leaders. It aims to equip participants with the tools and skills to improve the quality of patient care systematically – by defining patient care processes, priortising opportunities to improve the care, using diagnostic techniques, statistical process control and effective team management skills to harness individuals with fundamental knowledge of the care process to design intervention.
Aimed primarily at spurring clinical leadership for change management, CPIP has been institutionalised across the National Healthcare Group where doctors, nurses and allied health staff take a team-based approach to improve clinical, financial and patient satisfaction outcomes.
The programme requires participants to complete a project within 6 to 9 months after the course, and continuing guidance is provided by facilitators through a series of follow-up review sessions (i.e., project review clinics, midpoint review and final project presentation).
What You will Learn
The 3.5 days CPI workshop will provide participants with specific training on quality improvement methodology, leadership, team work, evidence based medicine, value stream mapping, change management and their application in clinical settings to improve patient care and ensure that our care is consistent, patient-centered, seamless, appropriate and cost effective.
Participants come with a problem in mind and are taught how to undertake an improvement project with specific goals with the right team.
Programme StructureThe duration of the CPI programme is 6 months with 3 key learning sessions involving the creation and completion of a project around clinical improvement.
Healthcare Professionals attend a 5.5-day programme which includes a 3.5 day of workshop followed by 2 reviews at 3 monthly intervals.
