This is an event of pride and joy. Adj A/Prof Nellie Yeo, Chief Quality Officer, NHG, graced the event. We celebrated the “graduation” of 153 CPIP participants who had collectively completed more than 110 Clinical Quality Improvement projects. The event also marks the participants’ journey towards accomplishing their mission in improving the three key outcomes – clinical, cost and patient satisfaction, through their CPI projects.
This is the first time we have the largest representations from 16 institutions, and graduates that span across acute care hospitals, primary care centers and step-down care facilities.
Three special awards – Best Project Award, Merit Award and Sustainability Award, were also presented during the ceremony. The Best and Merit awards recognise outstanding projects and participants who have contributed significantly toward clinical quality improvement. Six Best Projects and eight Merit Awards were presented.
Of the 17 nominations received, four projects were awarded the Sustainability Award. The Sustainability Award recognises projects that have achieved sustained positive outcomes, with the potential for spread within the institution or cluster.
Dr Tung Yew Cheong, Head, Toa Payoh Polyclinic, who is also one of the graduates and Best Project Award recipients, concluded the ceremony with an inspirational note that encourages all clinicians to be a change agent of themselves, their department, and their organisation. This is also the goal of CPIP for each participant – To be the Change Agent.
