The 10th NHG Quality Day 2010
The 10th NHG Quality Day took place on Friday, 8 October 2010. Hosted by the Institute of Mental Health, the theme this year is ‘Continuous Learning and Improvement’. To commemorate this, learning notebooks were given out as door gifts, designed for staff to record notes from in-service talks, lectures, and other learning forums.
The event began with Opening Remarks, delivered by Guest of Honour Clin Prof Chee Yam Cheng, Assistant CEO (Clinical) NHG. Prof Chee acknowledged the progress made towards achieving an environment of trust and voluntary reporting. He highlighted a few projects from 2010’s CPIP Convention and Award Ceremony, as well as at the 7th MOH Healthcare Quality Improvement Conference. Dr Mark R Chassin, President of The Joint Commission, gave the Keynote Address, entitled: Achieving High Reliability: The Next Frontier in Health Care, citing several real life examples on the importance of reliability and consistency in healthcare.
The event also witnessed the cluster’s annual recognition of NHG Exemplary Patients, followed by the presentation of the NHG Excellence in Action Awards for staff. We take this opportunity to congratulate winning staff again. They received NTUC Vouchers and a certificate each, presented by Clin Prof Chee Yam Cheng.
The event closed with a buffet lunch, to which guests tucked in with gusto.
