Writeup on Leadership Masterclass for YLP Alumni

The Young Leaders Programme (YLP) was launched in 2005 to prepare and develop young officers with high potential for leadership roles. Four runs of YLP had been conducted over the last five years, and 75 young leaders had attended the programme.

In an effort to provide continuous learning opportunities for the YLP Alumni to develop and enhance their leadership skills and styles, College embarked on its first Leadership Masterclass on 18th November 2009 which was attended by 20 participants. Two leadership topics, namely Vigilant Leadership in Healthcare and the Full Range Leadership Model, were taught by A/P Tan Joo Seng and Dr Jeffrey Kennedy, lecturers from the Nanyang Business School, NTU. In addition to learning, the participants also had the opportunity to interact and network with alumni members from different batches.

After the workshop, participants shared how they enjoyed the session which provided insight and knowledge on leadership which they were able to bring back to their workplace. College will continue to look into providing more learning opportunities for staff to develop their leadership competencies.
